Obituary of James Robert Herrick
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of James (Jim) Robert Herrick, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He completed his life journey peacefully with his wife Fay and his son Vince at his side on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at the age of 67 years.
Jim was born and raised in Shaunavon, SK. After successfully completing his High School, he entered the University of Saskatchewan College of Engineering where he completed his final exam on August 12, 1964, the day his daughter was born. He worked in the Oil and Gas Industry for twenty-two years after which he was Owner-Operator of Pace-Setter Custom golf where he developed many loyal customers who appreciated his exceptional craftsmanship. For the past three years Jim enjoyed his retirement, keeping busy refinishing antique furniture, golfing and spending time with loved ones. Jim and Fay were married in 1959 and celebrated their forty-fifth wedding anniversary on June 27, 2004. Those who knew and loved Jim will cherish the memories of his gentle, kind, compassionate nature, his love of a good golf game with friends, his ability to make everyone feel special and above all, his enormous ability to love. Friends and family will be forever grateful for the gift of his life.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Fay; his son Vince (partner and special friend Rebecca Brandt) and his children, Melissa and Jessica; his daughter Rhonda (Dave Jenkins) and their children, Cassie and Cole; and his youngest son Gratton. He is also survived by his sister Olive (Larry Poitras) and their family; and his sister Elsie (Murray Todd) and their family.
