Obituary of Yim Sum Yu

Yim Sum Yu, beloved husband of Liry Seto-Yu of Calgary, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, August 27, 2004. Yim Sum was born on December 15, 1925 in Canton, China. Immigrating to Hong Kong in 1952 and later to Canada with his family in April of 1972. Employed with Sprung Clindinin from 1972 to 1989 and with Sun Ice until retiring in 1991. Yim Sum was an active member of the SGI and member of the Yee Association. Besides his loving wife, Liry Seto-Yu, Yim Sum is also survived by his children, David and Paulette Yu and Polly and Joseph Lee, all of Calgary, Kim and Alan Chow, of Toronto, Lila and Yik Wong, of Calgary and Susy Yu and Terrence Gobin, of Toronto; ten grandchildren and a great-grandson. He was predeceased by his parents, Tong Yee and Fae Lan Seto-Yee. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, September 4, 2004 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells on Sunday, September 5, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow in Queen’s Park Cemetery.
