Obituary of Gordon Williams Smith
With great sadness the family of Gordon Smith announces his passing at the Rockyview General Hospital on Monday, August 30, 2004 at the age of 92 years.
Gordon was born in Winnipeg, MB on September 3, 1911. He was a member for sixty years of the Masonic Order, a member of the Royal Order of Scotland, 33rd Degree member of the Scottish Rite, and a Past Master of Jordan Lodge. He traveled across Canada with the Canadian Army as a Warrant Officer II, R.C.E.M.E., and settled in Calgary. He enjoyed listening to music, was an avid golfer and sports fan.
Gordon will be greatly missed by his two daughters and a son-in-law, Wendy Ann and Peter Carney, and Vicki-Lynne Jost all of Calgary; three grandsons, David and Ryan Carney and Doug Jost; and favorite niece Meg (Arnie) Bilyk of Kelowna, BC. He was predeceased by his wife Christina and son-in-law Gerd Jost.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, September 3, 2004 at 2:30.p.m. Family Graveside Service was held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
