Obituary of Helen Louise Holdsworth

Helen Louise Holdsworth (nee Morgan) of Calgary, passed on peacefully in her sleep on August 25, 2004 at the age of 81 years. Born in Edmonton, AB on October 6, 1922, Helen’s family then moved to Saskatoon, SK before settling in Calgary. She married Jack Holdsworth in 1945 in St. John’s, NFLD before the war was over. Helen and Jack raised their family in Calgary where they shared their life together with many close friends and family. Her favorite and best role in life was that of Momma to her cherished grandsons Rick, Dave and John. Helen will be lovingly remembered for her enthusiasm and great love of family, friends and sports. Helen is survived by her daughter Jane (Terry) Somerville; son Jack Holdsworth; grandsons Rick (Pam) Turner, David and John Holdsworth; and great-grandson Carter Turner. She is also survived by her brother Jay (Doreen) Morgan; and many loving nephews and nieces. Helen was predeceased by her husband Jack; parents Luke and Blanche; two brothers Jack and Steve Morgan; and her two sisters Kay Jones and Marg Graham. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAYS Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. A Private Family Graveside Service will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
