Obituary of Kenneth Rae Howden

Kenneth (Ken) Rae Howden, beloved husband of Mrs. Darlene Howden of Calgary, passed away unexpectedly in Ignace, Ontario on Sunday, August 22, 2004 at the age of 65 years. Ken was born on April 27, 1939 in Calgary, AB. He grew up in the Irricana District and attended Goderich and Beiseker schools. He later joined the Calgary Police Service and worked for AGT Security in Edmonton before opening an Insurance business in Lacombe, AB. He enjoyed long-haul truck driving across Canada and the United States for a number of years. He loved all sports and was continually trying to improve his golf game. Camping was always a favourite getaway when time would allow. Ken is survived by his children, Karen, Vickie, Shelley and Robbie. He is also remembered by his sisters, Dianne (Colin) Hawkins of Irricana, Eileen (Gilbert) Berreth of Red Deer, and Cheryl (Bryan) Hagel of Beiseker; Darlene’s children, Kelly (John) Eskeland and Tara (Marcel) van Noordenne and their families. He is also survived by numerous relatives; and Darlene’s brother; two sisters; their families; and his father-in-law Charlie Miller. Ken was predeceased by his mother Nora in 1990; his father Doug in 1995; and his mother-in-law Esther Miller in 2003.
