Obituary of Gilbert Crawler
A rancher and cowboy most of his life, Gilbert is the great-grandson of Chief Chiniki and George Crawler and the maternal grandson of Jonas Benjamin. Gilbert always had a smile and a handshake for everyone he met and he will be remembered as a very humerous person.
Born on November 25, 1953, Gilbert passed away peacefully at the Canmore Hospital on Saturday, August 21, 2004, leaving behind his loving wife Rosie who was his friend and partner of thirty-three years; his children, Bonnie (Justin), Quinn (Adele); Sam, Hannah, and Rudy; god-daughters, Holly and Renee; five grandsons, Coy, Shadow, Haze, Maceo, and Mael; and one granddaughter Summer. He is also survived by his brother Lawrence; sister Jennifer; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended relatives in Morley, Bighorn, and Eden Valley. Gilbert was predeceased by both his parents, Jake and Hannah; sister Bertha; sister-in-law Shirley; nephew Clem; and auntie Lily Benjamin.
Wake Services will be held at the family residence (Morley, AB) today, August 24, 2004. Graveside Service will be held in the Crawler Family Cemetery (Morley, AB) on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to thank Dr. Hinds and all the staff at the Canmore Hospital for the care they provided to Gilbert.
