Obituary of Lucienne McAuley

Lucienne (Lucy) McAuley, beloved wife of Jim McAuley of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Sunday, August 22, 2004 at the age of 73 years. Lucy was born in Verdun, QC and moved to Calgary with her family as a youngster, learning English in school. She married Jim in 1953 and together they raised a family of five, three sons and two daughters, in the Haysboro neighbourhood. Lucy was an ardent hockey mom, CWL member, teachers’ aid at Eugene Cost primary school and community league volunteer. Lucy was devoted to her family. In her retirement, Lucy enjoyed crafting and travels with Jim. Besides her loving husband, Lucy is survived by her children and their spouses, Joan and Ralph Endersby of Toronto, Donald and Ali of Mexico City, Gary of Airdrie, Kevin and Elana of Calgary, and Maureen of Calgary; ten grandchildren Amber, Michael, Tyler, James, Steven, Katelyn, Daniel, Alyssa, Jordan and Bradley. She is also survived by her sister, Rita King of Vancouver, BC; and her brother Guy Dandurand of Barrie, ON. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, August 26, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with the Very Rev.
