Obituary of Helen Millicent Huck
Helen Millicent Huck, beloved wife of Mr. Joseph “Tad” Huck of Calgary, passed away at the Oilfields General Hospital, Black Diamond on Thursday, August 19, 2004 at the age of 74 years.
Helen was born on November 1, 1929 in Etonia, SK. Her mother’s occupation as a School Teacher took them to various towns in Alberta during Helen’s childhood. Helen and Joseph were married on May 30, 1953 and resided in Calgary until retiring to an acreage outside of the city.
Devoted to her family, Helen also had a great love for many activities outside the home. She served as President of the Southern Alberta Ladies Curling Association and participated in the 1980 Alberta Winter Games, and enjoyed golfing. Her greatest joy was still her family who considered her a “rose between four thorns”.
Besides her husband of fifty-one years, Joseph “Tad”, Helen is remembered by her sons, Blair (Erika), and Kevin (Lisa) of Calgary, and Todd (Leanne) of Edmonton; and grandchildren, Cara, Lauren, Jessica, Bryan, Scott and Michael. She is also survived by one brother and two sisters, Clyde (Nettie) Nelson and Margaret Fraser of Calgary, Audrey (Henry) Stevenson of Nelson, BC and several in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Myra Grant and a favourite nephew, Garth Huck.
