Obituary of Ardmore Alfke

Ardmore Allen Alfke was born in Palermo, ND., on February 15, 1907. He came to Alberta with his parents in 1908, and they homesteaded in the Cochrane area. Ardmore was always engaged in the auto sales and service industry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and regular winters in Acapulco. As a result of his many visits to Acapulco he learned to speak Spanish. As a long time member of Central United Church he helped to form the couples club, served on the board and ushered for many years. Ardmore also volunteered for the Canadian Red Cross Society. He is survived by his son Don of Salmon Arm BC; and daughter Pat of Calgary; as well as six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Curtis of Kelowna his extended family. He was predeceased by his wife Lois in 1993 and his brother Harold in 1999. Funeral Services will be at the Bethany Care Centre Link Auditorium 5th Floor at 916-18a Street N.W. on Tuesday August 24, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev.
