Obituary of Alexander Papp

Alexander Papp of Calgary passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Thursday, August 19, 2004 at the age of 91 years. Al was born on June 30, 1913 in Calgary. He worked for many years as a Machinist at Ogden Shops and later worked as a Shipper/Receiver for Hughes Owens. Al was a wonderful father with a wicked sense of humor. He loved card games, and bingo with a passion, and anything else he could win at. He was always interested in his grandchildren and enjoyed their visits. His pride and joy in the last few years were his great-grandchildren. He was very fortunate to live a full and healthy ninety-one years. He was loved by all and will be truly missed. Al is survived by his children, Sharon (Bill), Ray (Elaine), Rodney, and Debra (Bill), all of Calgary; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret. Al was predeceased by his wife Lydia; his son Ross; and eleven brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, August 23, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
