Obituary of John Brekka

1946 – 2004 John Joseph Brekka beloved husband of Marcella Brekka of Calgary passed away suddenly on Monday August 16, 2004 at the age of 57 years. John was born November 23, 1946 in Glace Bay NS. He became a Certified Pipe Welder in Nova Scotia and continued his education in that industry. He worked all across Canada and in some parts of the United States. He was a very hard worker. He married Marcella Brekka on December 1, 1967 also of Glace Bay, NS. He was a Member of the United Association of Pipe fitters Union 488. John spent a lot of time with his family especially with his four grandsons. He is survived by his daughters; Kimberly Beekhuizen, Joanne Yagelnesky (Ken) of Calgary; sisters, Beverly, Betty Anne and Diane and brothers; Terry and Jerry; four grandchildren, Travis, Tanner, Cody, and Ethan; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Alice Brekka; and his sister Jean Elchesyn.
