Obituary of Helen Derksen

Helen Margaret Derksen of Calgary passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at the age of 79 years. Helen was born on July 20, 1925 in Saskatchewan. She was a very kind, gentle woman who enjoyed life and found the best in everyone. A wonderful mother to six daughters, she also looked after many other children over the years. Helen is remembered by six daughters and their families, Sharon and Rory Ralph (Stephanie and Nathan), June Derksen (Courtney), Shirley and John Talbot (Breanne and Jennifer), Kathy and Tony Yezik (Alicia, Krystle, and Hilary), Tracy Wilbur ((Chelsey, Curtis Webster and Julie) (Michael, Chantal and Brando)), as well as Fern and John Fernie (Clayton, Tiffany, and Kali), all of Calgary. She is also survived by two brothers, Doug Blyth, and Bill Blyth; one sister Anne Brown; and two stepsons, Bob Brett, and Jay Brett and their families. Helen was predeceased by her husband Dave in 1984. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, August 19, 2004 at 2:30 P.M.
