Condolences
Dorothy, just yesterday I was showing my younger son a painting that was done by John and which he gave me in 1973. I was speaking with Diane (my ex wife) at a 4th birthday party of the daughter of Allison who you remember was 1 year old when we were at your house, and Diane told me that she found out that John passed away in 2004.
I wish to tell you that even though we did not see each other very much since we left Calgary I have thought about you and John many many times. John had a tremendous influence on my life and I have spoken about him to many people over the years. John was a friend to me as well as being a work boss and mentor.
John and I did cycling together and even kayaking. We spent many times together philsophising about life and discussing how things worked. John and I designed and built the first Oil Allowables program for Chevron Standard, and that program was used for many years by Chevron. We together also built many other systems and programs.
I am deeply sorry that I didn’t connect with you and John during the years he was with us, but I can tell you that I will always cherish the thought of John in my heart.
And if you are ever in Vancouver please give me a call.
Len
Dear Dorothy
You remember me as Diane Voth (formerly married to Len Voth). We lived in Calgary in the early ’70’s and we so enjoyed yours and John’s friendship those couple of years that we were there. It made all the difference to us being so far away from our families.
I was speaking to my husband, Douglas, just yesterday about you and John, wondering how you were doing. Tonight I decided to look you up on the Internet and, with much sorrow, saw that John had passed away six years ago.
I am so sorry, with all of my heart, that I did not see the two of you again.
Dorothy, if you ever wish to write me and reconnect, I would love that.
Diane
