Obituary of James Ross Ellestad

Jim Ellestad, born March 11, 1956, passed away quietly in his sleep on Friday, August 13, 2004 at the age of 48. Jim was a skilled draftsman and a very talented artist. He had an exceptional ability to portray the unique features of a personality in his drawings. He loved fishing and the outdoors, which showed in his own very unique style of landscapes and natural settings in his work. While living and working in Yellowknife through much of the 1970’s, Jim met Vicki Francesci. They married and had one daughter whom they named Amanda. Jim later remarried Wanda Egen of Red Deer who provided strength and support for Jim through very difficult years. His recent return to drawing and determination to improve his life and health were due to her support. Sadly, his journey was cut short. Jim will be loved and remembered for his artistry, great sense of humour, his love for his family and friends, and his will to be a better person. Jim is survived by his brothers Mark and Jeff. Jim is predeceased by his parents Bob and Laurie Ellestad.
