Obituary of Andrew Thauberger

Andrew Thauberger of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Foothills Medical Centre on Saturday, August 14, 2004 after a lengthy illness at the age of 77 years. Andrew was born on July 23, 1927 in Liebenthal, SK (near Leader). He married Katherine Folk in Liebenthal on October 6, 1951, moved to Calgary in 1952, and in 1961 they purchased their home in Acadia. Andrew worked for Canadian Pacific Railway and for Foothills Steel Foundry. He was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Forest Lawn Branch #275. Andrew is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Egidio Cecchetto, and Rose and Wilson Vollans, all of Calgary; seven grandchildren; Elaine (Terry) Balde, Bonnie McDonald, Neil McDonald, John Cecchetto, Adriano (Sherrie) Cecchetto, Stefano Cecchetto and Andrea Vollans; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters and three brothers, Evelyn Silbernagel, Joseph Thauberger, Tillie Regnier, Frank Thauberger and Bill Thauberger; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Katherine on May 9, 1995; parents John and Cecilia Thauberger; two brothers, Walter and Eugene; and a sister Emily.
