Obituary of Lawrence Mason

Beloved husband of Helen Mason of Calgary passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on August 12, 2004 at the age of 69 years. Larry immigrated to Canada from Milnethorpe, England in 1947. Larry became a proud Canadian and represented his country in speedskating at the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympics. Besides being a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, Larry also committed his life to many amateur sports. Larry was a founding member of the Calgary Speedskating Club and Past President of the Alberta Bicycle Association. Along with organizing these sports Larry was a dedicated coach. Larry enjoyed meeting and talking with people and those who came to know him were inspired by his story. Larry?s dedication, wisdom, humour and spirit will be missed. Larry is also survived by his Mother, Ethel, Brother, Miles (Robin) and Jim, Son, Brian, Daughter, Laura (Rich), Grandchildren Chelsea and Garrett along with nieces, nephews and other family. Larry was predeceased by his father, Larry and sister, Irene.
