Obituary of Darlene Heather Orriss

Darlene Orriss, beloved wife and best friend of Kevin, passed away suddenly of heart failure in Kelowna, BC on Thursday, August 12, 2004 at the age of 48 years. Darlene was born in Calgary where she and Kevin made their home. Since it began in 1976, their marriage blossomed and grew in devotion over each of their twenty-eight years together. Since 1986, Darlene with her children, and Kevin when work pressure allowed, spent every summer at their lakeshore cottage in Kelowna (Darlene’s personal heaven on earth) where she enjoyed time with family and friends. Darlene graduated from the University of Alberta in 1976 as a Dental Hygienist. She enjoyed an active lifestyle, which included kayaking and water-skiing. Darlene completed the Honolulu Marathon in December of 2003, one month after becoming a grandmother. Darlene was treasured by her many life long friends for her optimism, humor, exuberance and her practical approach to life. Besides her loving husband, Darlene is remembered and cherished by her devoted family, Christy and Jess Seutter, Heather and Ryan Cannady, Trevor, Emily, Alanna; and her precious baby granddaughter Zoe Anna Seutter; she is also survived by her parents, Orville and Eileen Burkinshaw and her eight brothers and sisters and their families. Her friends, the patients and staff at Dr. Leonard Zybutz’s office will dearly miss her.
