Obituary of Kris Ervick

Kresten (Kris) Martin Ervick of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Thursday August 12, 2004 at the age of 95 years. Kris was born on May 15, 1909 in Ervik Norway and came to Wetaskiwin, AB at the age of fourteen. In 1959 he moved to Calgary. He married Lillie Astrid Arntsen in 1946 and they were together until her passing in October 1980. He worked as a Nursing Orderly for Shawnessy Hospital, Vancouver and Colonel Belcher Hospital, retiring after twenty-five years in 1974. He served with the Canadian Army Medical Core during WWII. Kris inherited a woodworking hobby from his father and loved to be in his garden with his flowers especially his Gladiolas and Roses. He is survived by his daughter Anne Franklin and husband Keith; a granddaughter Laura McMillan (nee Gillingham) of Calgary; and nieces Karen (nee Ervick) and Christine both of Edmonton. Kris was predeceased by his wife Lillie Astrid Arntsen. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, August 16, 2004 at 2:30 P.M. with Pastor Philip Costain, Chaplain Carewest Colonel Belcher, officiating.
