Obituary of White Eagle

Deborah (Debbie) Ann White Eagle passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at the age of 37 years, just a few days shy of her birthday on August 12. Deborah was born in Fort MacLeod, AB to Michael White Eagle of Siksika Nation and Roberta Iron Shirt of Peigan. She will be lovingly remembered by her beautiful children, Clinton, Candace, Kyfer, Tyke, Nathan, Summer, and Colton; and her precious grandchildren, Dreydon and Nyasia. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters, Micheline (Andrew), Michele (Brian), Leanne (Bradley), Staycie; and an aunt she took as her sister, Cheryl Iron Shirt. Deborah is also survived by her uncles, Melvin (Delores) of Browning, MT, Dexter (Marie), Donnie (Jenny), Marvin (Delia), Glen (Delphine), and Dion of Siksika; aunts, Corrine (Billy), Myrna (Phillip) of Peigan; great-uncles, Hugh and Davis (Cindy) Crow Eagle, Nick Smith of Peigan, Harvey Peace Maker of Siksika; and great-aunts, Beatrice Cross Child, Dorothy Provost of Peigan, Sylvia and Rachel Peace Maker of Siksika. Deborah was very fond of all her beautiful nieces and nephews well as the numerous close cousins and relatives of the Peace Maker, White Elk, Nepoose, Sleigh, Calf, Sitting Eagle, Sun Walk, Red Gun, Wolf Ear, and Turning Robe families of Siksika. (We apologize if we have missed anybody.) Deborah touched the lives of many and anyone who had the privilege of knowing her will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Cyril and Josephine Not Useful of Siksika and Fred and Clara Iron Shirt of Peigan; special niece Lainey Not Useful; aunts, Joyce and Loreen Not Useful of Siksika, Evelyn Rider of Browning, MT, and Valerie Iron Shirt of Peigan; uncles, Wayne Not Useful of Siksika and Johnny Iron Shirt of Peigan; and cousins, Leon and Kim Iron Shirt, Jeremy Snow Peace Maker, Georgina Iron Shirt, and Leroy Rider of Peigan. Wake Services will be held at the residence of Dexter White Eagle (Siksika Nation) on Monday, August 16, 2004 at 3:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held at the Siksika Community Centre (Siksika Nation, AB) on Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. Margaret Water Chief officiating.
