Obituary of Wesley Clifford Fox

Wes Fox of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Foothills Medical Centre on Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at the age of 76 years. Wes was born in Grenfell, SK on January 26, 1928. He joined the Canadian Military in 1947, as a Mechanic belonging to the Royal Canadian Army Service Corp. He served his country in the following postings throughout his twenty-three years: Camp Borden, Regina, Korea, Ft. Churchill, Rivers, Egypt (peace keeping force), and finally in Calgary. As a second career, Wes worked at S.A.I.T., in Calgary for twenty years, in the Division of Finance. Wes married Clara Kindlein of Wapella, SK on October 14, 1952 in Regina. They started their lives together in Ft. Churchill, MB and finally residing in Calgary. Wes was an active member of the Canadian Legion and the Army and Navy. Family and friends will remember him as being a kind, generous, and a devoted husband and father who was always ready and willing to help when asked. He was known to be the “Ultimate Jack of all Trades” who could fix anything from carpentry, plumbing and electrical, etc. But his true love was for vehicles and would always make sure that his family and friends cars were in good working condition, spending half his life under a vehicle, doing mechanical work. He regularly attended vehicle auctions. He had an amazing personality which radiated charm to wit, always knowing the right thing to say, to put a smile on your face. He loved life and traveled extensively with his wife Clara in their fifth wheel trailer to various areas in Canada and the United States. Cross-country skiing, golfing (famous for his right slice) and socializing were his interests. Wes will be lovingly remembered by Clara, his wife of fifty-one years; his daughter Bonny Lee and his son Barry Dale, both of Calgary. Wes was predeceased by his parents Clifford and Elizabeth; his brothers, Adrian and Lloyd Fox. A Private Memorial Service will be held by his family.
