Obituary of Pieternella Raymaakers

Pieternella (Nel) Raymaakers of Calgary passed away at the Intercare Southwood Care Centre on Monday, July 26, 2004 at the age of 90 years. Nel was born on January 3, 1914 in The Hague, Holland and immigrated to Canada with her husband and children in 1954. Nel has resided in the city of Calgary since 1955. She loved music with a passion, including operas, and spent many happy hours enjoying the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Mom’s other loves were her family, bingo, and gardening. She has resided at the Intercare Southwood Centre since 1992. Nel will be remembered by her three daughters and two sons-in-law, Teresa Steman of Calgary, Nel and John Van Schyndel of Amersfoort, Holland, and Toni and Raymond Maddocks, of Summerland, BC; and two sons and daughters-in-law, Harry and Hedy Raymaakers of Calgary, and Leo and Faye Raymaakers of High River; sixteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. Nel was predeceased by her husband Leonardus (Leo) Raymaakers.
