Obituary of Muriel Morison
Muriel passed away July 22, 2004 at the Bethany Care Centre in Airdrie.
Muriel was born August 11, 1920 in Calgary, the fourth child in a family of five, and then raised on the family farm west of Airdrie. She took part of her high school by correspondence and finished her high school in Dryden, Ontario living with an aunt and uncle. She attended Business College in Calgary then joined the RCAF for almost five years during WWII. For thirty-four years of her working life she was employed by Texaco Exploration in the Law Department. She always enjoyed golf, travel, hiking, cross country skiing and was devoted to her church (Rosedale United). Most of all Muriel’s love was for her family and her multitude of friends. An extraordinary woman, Muriel gave endlessly of her time, love, loyalty and encouragement. She will be remembered and dearly missed by her brothers Pete (Bernie) Morison, Tom Morison, sister-in-law Margaret Morison; her nieces and nephews Stuart Morison, Carol (Earle) Whittaker, Christie Morison, Bill (Sheila) Morison, Dawn (Glen) Wickerson, Howard (Stacey) Morison, Jerry Morison, Katharine Priedeman, great nieces and nephews Kim (Bill) Rose, Dean Morison, Anne (Samir) Chehade, Tara Whittaker, Colin (Terri) Whittaker, Rod (Cheryl) Morison, Stacey (Dan) Henn, Brett Wickerson, Byron Wickerson, Erin (Brad) Hurkett, Devin Morison, Molly Priedeman, Tommy Priedeman, Olivia Priedeman, twelve great-great nieces and nephews, and aunts and cousins. Muriel was predeceased by her sister Blanche (1919), father Fred (1948), mother Elizabeth (1967) and brother Glen (1998).
Funeral Services will be held at Wild Rose United Church (1317 – 1st Street N.W.) on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. To forward condolences go to www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
