Obituary of Joseph Charette
J. Burgess Charette of Calgary passed away at the Colonel Belcher Hospital on Thursday, July 22, 2004 at the age of 82 years.
Burgess was born on February 9, 1922 in Spokane, WA and was raised in the Blairmore and Pincher Creek, AB area. In 1941, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Ordinance Division and served overseas until 1945. Upon his return to Canada, Burgess started work with the Alberta Treasury Branch working at several locations throughout Alberta. Burgess moved to Calgary in 1964 and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #1.
Burgess is survived by his children and their spouses, Sandra and Dennis Brossard of White Rock, BC, Roxanne and David Kaiser of Cranbrook, BC, and Blaine and Judy Charette of Edmonds, WA; seven grandchildren, Patrick (Tara) and Blaise Brossard, Nathan, Joel and Courtney Kaiser, and Blaeden and Eliot Charette; two brothers, Francis (Barbara) Charette of Longview, AB and Bernard Charette of Fort Vermillion, AB; as well as the mother of his children, Roberta.
Graveside Service will be held at Queen’s Park Cemetery (3219 – 4 Street N.W.) on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. To forward condolences go to www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
