Obituary of Muskwa Awasis Johnson

Muskwa Awasis Johnson, beloved husband of Shauna Pelletier of Calgary passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at the age of 26 years. Muskwa was born on July 6, 1978 in Balcarres, SK and attended various schools around Canada. Although he was raised in the Edmonton area, he lived in Calgary for the last seven years, working as a roofer with Flynn Canada. His greatest moments were the births of his two beautiful daughters, Larissa and Savannah. He enjoyed playing the guitar and his favorite bands were Metallica and Pantera. Muskwa was a very hard worker. Besides his loving wife, Muskwa is survived by his daughters, Larissa and Savannah; and nephew Isaac. He is also survived by his mother Jean Johnson; Aunt Caron Denomie and Dan Lupichuk; sisters, Sessy Buffalo, Shonna Campbell, Rosebud (Brian), Daphne (Steve), Crystal, and Ashley; brothers, Jarrell (Deveryll) Johnson and Dakota Johnson; maternal grandmother Bernice Desnomie; paternal grandmother Lillian Rain; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Larry Johnson; brother Winterhawk Johnson; niece Solaya Johnson; and grandfathers, Leo Desnomie and Gabe Johnson. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY?S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, July 10, 2004 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Wake Services will be held at the Jim Omeasoo Cultural Centre, Samson Cree Nation on Saturday, July 10, 2004 and Sunday, July 11, 2004. Funeral Services will be held at the Jim Omeasoo Cultural Centre, Samson Cree Nation on Monday, July 12, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. Graveside Service to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
