Obituary of Amy Charman

Amy Charman (nee Day) beloved mother of Jennifer Heath of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Newport Care Centre at the age of 83 years. Amy spent her childhood and early adult years in London, England. She immigrated to Canada in 1954 and lived in Ontario and British Columbia before settling in Alberta in the late 1950’s. Amy always described her enjoyment of life in terms of her relationships with others. She had fond memories of many friends made over her lifetime, her work colleagues at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, her many dear friends at Sarcee Meadows and more recently at the Harbors of Newport and friends she made through her daughter Jennifer and her family. Amy will be deeply missed by her daughter and son-in-law Jennifer Heath and James MacKinnon; grandchildren Amy and Daniel. She is survived by her sisters Elsie Margaret Beusse of Tarrytown N.J. and Joyce Francis Smith and her husband Maurice Smith of Derby, England; nieces and nephews Edwin, Gillian and Frances; and long time friend Ernest Charman. Amy was predeceased by her parents Edwin Frederick Day and Clara Day, her special aunt Amy Barker, her daughter Patricia Carter, her husband Joseph Carter, her niece Madeline Beusse and two brothers-in-law, Harry Beusse and Donald Ziegler. A Funeral Service to Celebrate Amy’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, July 15, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. with the Rev Catherine M.
