Obituary of Elizabeth Wolfe Garbutt

Betty Garbutt, a native Calgarian, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2004 at the Rockyview General Hospital after a lengthy illness, at the age of 83 years. Betty graduated from Queen’s University and worked in medical research projects in Minnesota, Palo Alto, CA, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton as well as a lengthy period in London, England. She had a great ability to make friends and to maintain those friendships over many years. Betty is survived by a sister Edith Garbutt of Victoria, BC; a brother and sister-in-law George and Betty Garbutt of Calgary; sister-in-law Betty Yvonne Garbutt of Toronto; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, sister Alice Gill, and brother Fred Garbutt.
