Obituary of Karen Ann Mary Cecilia Armstrong

Karen Anne Armstrong, beloved wife of David James Armstrong of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Foothills Medical Centre surrounded by her family after a three year struggle with Inflammatory Breast Cancer on Friday, June 25, 2004 at the age of 46 years. Karen was a warm and giving person, always thinking of others before herself. She was born to Kenneth and Marjorie McDermid in Ottawa, ON on August 4, 1957. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband David, and her three terrific sons, Joshua, Ryan, and Tyler. She is survived by her siblings, Neil (Ann) McDermid of Moose Jaw, SK, Brenda (Doug) Bryan of Kanata, ON, Eric (Mary) McDermid of South Mountain, ON, Lana (Jeff) LeClair of South Mountain, ON, and Donna McNeilly of Mountain, ON. She is also survived by her father-in-law Jim Armstrong and brother-in-law Dale (Stacey) Armstrong, of Calgary. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Karen was predeceased by her infant son Matthew, her father Kenneth McDermid, and her mother-in-law Nellie Armstrong.
