Obituary of Olanda Miotti

Olanda Maria Miotti, of Calgary, passed away peacefully at her son’s home on June 18, 2004, surrounded by family. She was born in Antrodoco, Italy on October 15, 1917 and immigrated to Canada in 1931. She loved her job at the Holy Cross Hospital where she worked for room, board and fourteen dollars a month, until she married in 1937. She was an amazing cook, baker, mother, grand-mother, and a friend to all. Olanda loved her family deeply. She left this world a legacy of prayer, devoting many hours to ask God’s blessing upon everyone that she knew. Olanda is survived by her son, Louie Miotti and his wife Sylvia, her grand- children; Joe Miotti (Darlene), Paul Miotti (Anna) and Anita Miotti-Semaka (Ty). She was predeceased by her husband Attilio and her son, Alexander Miotti. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at Ascension Catholic Church (1100 Berkshire Boulevard N.W.) on Wednesday June 23 at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ascension Catholic Church (1100 Berkshire Boulevard N.W.) on Thursday, June 24, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. Ignatius Thu Tran, Presider.
