Obituary of Rosemary Burns
Rosemary Burns of Calgary passed away peacefully in the company of her daughter, Francine, at the Beverly Centre on Monday, June 21, 2004 at the age of 79 years.
Rosemary began her musical career in New York City where she was a student of The Juilliard School of Music, followed by several years of singing in Europe, principally in Italy. She continued her career back in New York City by performing in many of the city’s finest night clubs. Rosemary moved to Toronto and became a Singing Instructor. In Rosemary’s later years she move to Calgary and developed a new family of friends at the Renoir.
Rosemary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Francine and David Swanson of Calgary; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty Cleary of Orillia, ON and Marjorie and Bill Corcoran of Vancouver, BC; a brother Ray Burns of Sarnia, ON; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 – 24th Street S.W.) on Friday, June 25, 2004 at 11:00 A.M with the Rev. Jack Pereira, Presider.
