Obituary of Janelle Marie Redekop
Janelle Marie Redekop, cherished and beloved daughter of Jack and Tannis Redekop of Calgary, passed away at the Fairview University Medical Centre, Minneapolis, MN on Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at the age of fourteen after a long battle related to Fanconi Anemia and bone marrow transplant complications.
Janelle was born on April 25, 1990, raised in Calgary and attended Deer Run School and Wilma Hansen Junior High. Her greatest love in life was to share time with her family and friends, especially at the cabin. She had a great passion for the dramatic arts, roller coasters, and rock climbing. She was an adept public speaker and enjoyed participating in media events. She invested much of her time assisting fund raising campaigns for the Alberta Children’s Hospital and was one of God’s brightest lights, bringing hope, love, and joy into every situation.
She warmed the hearts of others with her kindness, wisdom and compassion. Janelle’s outstanding courage, strength, and faith will be held in the hearts of those lives she touched forever.
Besides her loving parents, Janelle will always be treasured by her brothers, Jonathan and Jay; her grandparents, Chuck and Eva Collins of Forestburg, AB; auntie Terri (Doug) Parker, uncle Kent (Cathy) Collins, auntie Eleanor (Doug) Hazelton, uncle Ted (Liz) Redekop, auntie Linda (Bill) Kenney, auntie Judy (Derek) Stedman, uncle Dave (DedÚ) Redekop, and auntie Debra (Tom) Ackerman, her half-brother Troy (Brandi) Raugust, and sister-in-law Sandra (Cam) Wright; as well as numerous cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her grandparents John and Anne Redekop.
In lieu of flowers we ask that all donations be sent to the Janelle Redekop Memorial Fund, 327 Deer Side Place S.E., Calgary, AB T2J 5W9.
