Obituary of Vincent Krehel

Vincent Krehel passed away peacefully at the Rosedale Hospice in Calgary on Friday, June 4, 2004 succumbing to cancer. Vince was born in Czechoslovakia and came to Canada when he was 1 ¢ years old. Vince attended St. Mary’s Boys School in Calgary and the University of Alberta from where he received his B. Comm. Degree. He was employed by Gulf Oil Canada and later spent many years with Canada Cities Service until retirement. He was interested in hockey having played for the Calgary Buffalo Org. and later the University of Alberta Golden Bears. He was a longtime member of the Calgary Elks Lodge and Golf Club. He leaves his wife Ethel, sister-in-law and brother-in-law May and James Gillis and nephew Ted Gillis of California, also numerous cousins in Edmonton, Penticton, B.C., Trail B.C., and in the United States. He was predeceased by his son Calvin in 1990 and his parents John and Verona Krehel in the 1970’s. Internment will be in the Ocean View Evergreen Garden, Burnaby, B.C. next to his son Calvin, his mother and father-in-law Ena and Charles Middleton and brother-in-law M.
