Obituary of Hanne Swaita

Surrounded by her family who loved her so much, Hanne Swaita, loving wife, cherished mother, dear sister, passed away peacefully at home in Calgary on Thursday, June 3, 2004 at the age of 65 years, after a courageous fight with her illness. We will miss her positive spirit, amazing strength, her love, and her great outlook on life. Our mom’s laughter, love and spirit will be felt in us forever. We love you. She was sad to leave her husband, children and grandchildren behind, but was comforted to know that part of her will live on forever through them. Hanne’s husband, children and their families will miss her more than words can express: her husband Halim; son and daughter-in-law, Atalla and Julianna, and their children, Elias and Vanessa; son and daughter-in-law, George and Paty, and their daughter Isabella; daughter and son-in-law, Skia and Samer, and their children, Fadi and Angelo; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Essam, and their children, Chady and Cassandra; daughter and son-in-law, Rima and Nasser and their children, Phillip and Peter; as well as her son Sam. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary (George) Kobrosly of Calgary and Rachel David of Cedar Rapids, IA; her brothers, Joseph (Audette) Daoud and David (Nicole) Daoud, all of Cedar Rapids, IA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Hanne was predeceased by her loving parents, Salem and Zarife Daoud; and brothers, Elias Daoud of Cedar Rapids, IA and Salim Daoud of Calgary, AB. Requiem Service will be held at St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church (402 Meredith Road N.E.) on Monday, June 7, 2004 at 11:30 A.M. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
