Obituary of Drago Mustapic

Drago Mustapic, beloved husband of Tomislavka of Calgary, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side after a courageous battle with stomach cancer, on Tuesday, June 2, 2004 at the age of 75 years. Drago was born on August 24, 1928 in Lovrec, Croatia. As a new immigrant to this country, Drago faced many obstacles yet he persevered. He married his beloved wife in June of 1957 and was employed in the Meat Packing Industry until his retirement in 1989. He was a proud Croatian Canadian and was a founding member of the Croatian Catholic Church and the Croatian Soccer Club of Calgary. His greatest pride were his four daughters and their families. Besides his loving wife, Drago is survived by his four daughters and three sons-in-law, Susan Mustapic of Calgary, Annie (Josip) Novosel and Tammy (Joe) Rozman, both of Toronto, and Lucy (Jure) Jerkovic of Croatia; eight grandchildren, Karmela, Tomislav, Mandy, Tomislav, Kristina, Matthew, Andrew, and Vinko; two sisters, Iva Mustapic of Croatia, and Slava Mustapic of Vancouver and their families; three sisters-in-law, Kazimira and family of Austria, Slava and family of Calgary, and Katica and family of Croatia; and other extended family in Canada and Croatia. Drago is predeceased by his parents Ivan and Mara; his brothers, Mirko, Matko and Radoslav and his son-in-law Marijan. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at Our Lady of Marija Bistrica Croatian Catholic Church (14680 Deer Ridge Drive S.E.) today, June 4, 2004 at 7:30 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Marija Bistrica Croatian Catholic Church (14680 Deer Ridge Drive S.E.) on Saturday, June 5, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. Domin Vladic, Presider.
