Obituary of Reginald Stanley Price

Surrounded by his family who loved him so much, Reginald Stanley (Stan) Price, our cherished dad, loving husband, dear brother and most special grandfather passed away peacefully at home in Calgary on Monday, May 31, 2004 after a courageous fight with cancer. All who knew him will remember him as an extraordinary man with many talents and we will forever miss his wisdom and wit. Stan was a free spirit who was forever taking on new adventures in life. An avid reader and creator of many unique works of art including a 10 ft. totem pole, which stands in the backyard, and his Millennium project of a metal Saguaro cactus, which stands proudly in the front yard. Left with many fond memories are his wife of fifty years, Ruthanne, his children, Kathy Vaughan (Graham), Colleen Price, Stan Price, Toby Price (Janet), Mike Price and Maureen MacDonald (Martin). Grandchildren Brigette, Tom, Erin, Michael, Heather, Andrew, Derek, Jennifer, Lauren, Cameron, Mary-Ellen, Stephanie, Arthur, Trevor, and Katherine will miss their adventures with their loving grandpa. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Grace Tobin of Guelph, ON, who will miss her “Papa Bear”. Stan will also be sadly missed by his sisters, Joan Boase (Jim) from Comox, BC and Mary Hardie (Eugene) from Calgary, and by many dear friends, including three special lifelong friends, Bill Comery, Roy Foss, and Pat Lauber (Sister Conrad), all of Toronto. Stan was predeceased by his parents Reginald and Kathleen Price. The family would like to thank the many caring hands that helped us through this most difficult time. A Celebration of Stan’s incredible journey of life will take place at the Glencoe Club (636 – 29th Avenue S.W.) on Monday, June 7, 2004 from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. Most of us who knew Stan know that art was one of his greatest passions and in line with this a scholarship fund has been set up in Stan’s memory at the Alberta College of Art and Design (ACAD). If friends so desire, contributions may be made directly to this scholarship fund. Please send donations to the Alberta College of Art and Design c/o External Affairs and Development, 1407 – 14th Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 4R3, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
