Obituary of Donald Glenn Skagen

Don Skagen of Calgary passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 29, 2004. Don was born in Glendive, Montana in 1925. After serving in the United States Navy, he attended Washington State University. Don had a long and accomplished career in the Canadian oil industry. He made many contributions to his community and to his province, gladly giving of his business and managerial expertise to many people and causes throughout his life. His enduring and active support of amateur sport in Alberta benefited many people. Don retired to Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia, where he loved to golf and fish. Besides his wife Annika (Nicky), Don leaves behind and will be sadly missed by his children, Eric (Elizabeth) of Calgary, Dane (Laura) of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Peter, and Suzanne (Marc), both of Calgary and his eight grandchildren. Those wishing to pay their respects and gather with Don’s family may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, June 3, 2004 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
