Obituary of Irene Evelyn ANDERSON

July 27, 1927 – Edmonton, Alberta September 12, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta Irene Anderson of Delacour, AB, passed away on September 12, 2017 at the age of 90 years. Irene was born in Edmonton, and obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Alberta, where she first met Harold. Irene and Harold were married in 1950 and moved to the family farm at Delacour shortly after. She was a loving and devoted wife, and mother of four boys. She enjoyed gardening, and maintained a large garden for over sixty years. Irene also enjoyed all kinds of crafts, particularly wheat weaving. Irene and Harold enjoyed traveling the world and hosting family and friends at the farm. She was very involved in the Delacour and Kathyrn communities. Irene is survived by her children, David (Carol) Anderson of Foothills, Ken (Ronna) Anderson of Delacour, and Doug Anderson (Rita Osis) of Delacour; grandchildren, Meghan Anderson of Calgary, Leigh Anderson of Foothills, and Kendra, Kaylee and Ryan Anderson of Delacour. She was predeceased by her husband Harold in 2016 and her son Gordon in 1974. As per Irene’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.
