Obituary of Peter Jordan Ostrander

Peter Jordan Ostrander of Calgary passed away, in the company of his family, at the Carewest Sarcee Hospice on Thursday, May 27, 2004 at the age of 20 years. Peter was born on July 23, 1983. He attended ACCESS classes at Mount Royal Junior High and Ernest Manning Senior High, graduating in 2002. Most recently, Peter was an eager participant in the HOPE Work Experience Program. He loved music of all kinds and enjoyed playing the piano. Swimming and camping were his other delights. Peter touched many people, often unexpectedly, with his sense of humour, determination, complete lack of of pretense, and especially with his unconditional love. Peter leaves a great gap in the lives of those who knew him, especially his parents, Michael and Marian and his sister Heather (“Hever”). He will also be missed by his grandparents, Lorene and Albert Ostrander of Invermere; and aunts, uncles and cousins, Ben Ostrander of Vancouver, Sally and Ross Dobson (Jeff and Mikale) of Cornwall, Steve Ostrander of Invermere, Peter Ostrander and Gayle Weitzman (Evan and Kelsey) of Ottawa, John Ostrander and Nancy Martin of Kingston, Gordon and Louise Fox (Sandra, Alison and Sarah) of Vancouver, and Florence Baturin (Katrina and Shawn) of Fernie. Peter was predeceased by his sister Jane and his maternal grandparents, Emanual and Mildred Fox. A Celebration of Peter’s Life will be held at Parkdale United Church (2919 – 8 Avenue N.W.) on Monday, May 31, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Murray Laverty officiating.
