Obituary of Zygmunt Kociuba

It is with deepest sorrow the family announces that Zygmunt Kociuba of Calgary passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at the age of 85 years. Zygmunt was born on July 27, 1918 in Przemyśl, Poland. He served in the Polish army during World War II. After the war (1947) he came to Nanton, AB where he met and married Jadwiga Mielcarek in 1949 and moved to Calgary the same year. They had two children, Michael and Andrew. Zygmunt will be remembered for his kindness, love of gardening, sense of humour, and his dedication to his work and care for his wife. He will be sadly missed by his sons, Michael (Sophie) and Andrew (Kathy) and his grandchildren, David, Steven, Lisa (Shawn), and Travis. He was predeceased by his wife Jadwiga on March 20,2000 as well as three brothers in Poland. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North), on Friday, May 28, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Polish Catholic Church (2111 Uxbridge Drive N.W.) on Saturday, May 29, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. with the Rev. Stanislaw Poszwa S.Ch., Presider.
