Obituary of Marlin Matechuk

Marlin Matechuk (nee Kozie), beloved wife of Henry Matechuk of Cochrane, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Friday, May 21, 2004, after a long hard fought battle with lung disease, at the age of 62 years. Marlin was born March 9, 1942 in Stornoway, SK and has lived in the Calgary area since 1966. She worked side by side through thick and thin with her husband at their family business HT Drywall. Marlin had a great passion for horses and was a fierce competitor, also breeding, training, and showing horses. She enjoyed all things outdoors. Besides her loving husband, Marlin is remembered by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Leslie Matechuk and Rod and Lisa Matechuk, all of Calgary; a grandson Cody Matechuk; as well as her faithful companion Peek-a-boo. She is also survived by three brothers and two sisters, John Kozie, Jean Kitsch, Steve and Verna Kozie, Irene and Merv Protz, and Danny and Elaine Kozie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Marlin was predeceased by her parents Peter and Jennie Kozie.
