Obituary of Ruth Doreen Burns

Ruth passed away peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2004 at the Agape Hospice in Calgary, at the age of 80 years. Ruth was born September 7, 1923, in Carrot Creek, Alberta. Her life was devoted to her family and to her beloved Symons Valley United Church, where she shared generously her kind and gentle nature and sang in the choir for over twenty years. Left to cherish her memory are her husband James; son Douglas and his wife Dorothy Sollosy of Vancouver B.C., daughters Kathryn of Yellowknife NWT and Patricia of Toronto, ON., son David and his wife Aida of Calgary, AB., grandchildren Graeme (Donna) of Beaumont, AB., Cameron and Jamie of Edmonton, AB., Jessi Burns Casebeer of Yellowknife N.W.T., Katie of Toronto, ON., and Anthony of Calgary, AB., great grand-children Caelan and Delaney of Beaumont, AB. She is also survived by brothers Robert Irwin (Jean) of Edson, AB., and Allen Irwin (Isabel) of Calgary, AB., sisters Jean Bossert (John) of Rochester, AB., and Helen Henault (Richard) of Carrot Creek, AB., sisters-in-law Marian Mertz of Port Angeles, Wash., and Ruth Ann Wadden of Calgary, AB., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at Symons Valley United Church (183 Beddington Drive N.E.) on Thursday May 20, 2004, at 2:00 P.M.with the Rev. David Drake officiating.
