Obituary of James Elmer Holden

James Elmer Holden of Calgary passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Sunday, May 16, 2004 at the age of 89 years. James was born on November 28, 1914 in Lamont, AB. He was a graduate of SAIT (Electrician) and worked during World War II at the ammonia plant in Calgary. Subsequently, he became a contractor (Holden Construction), designing many of the houses he built and eventually forming a partnership with his son. Upon retirement, he and his wife lived for many years in Airdrie, AB and Cochrane, AB. James is survived by his son, Daniel Grant Holden and his partner Colleayn Mastin of Calgary; two daughters, Linda Louise Jess and her partner Cameron Jess of Nova Scotia, and Janet Ruth Holden of Calgary; six grandchildren, James, Pamela, Geordie, Jolene, Holden, and Gaea; and four great- grandchildren, Ashley, Saya, Ami, and Breanna. James was predeceased by his wife of sixty-two years, Helen Louise Holden (nee Grant). There will be no Funeral Service; a Graveside Service will follow at a later date.
