Doris Edith Christianson of Calgary passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at the age of 76 years. She will be forever loved by her daughter Janice and husband Will Saskoley, and their two children, Erin and Shayne; her son Bob and his wife Angela, and their six children, Emily, Jocelyn, Eve, Luke, Vincent, and Anna; her daughter Karen and husband John Ewing; and her special friend, Jiggs. She was predeceased by her husband, Lee, in 1995. Doris was born in Edson, AB on November 23, 1927. After graduating high school, she left Edson to pursue her career as a Secretary, and was working for US Oilwell in Edmonton where she met her husband, Lee. They moved to Calgary in 1952 where they soon started a family. She stayed home and raised her children, being very active in their lives. She was also a tireless volunteer in her community, and for local charities. Doris was instrumental in helping her husband, Lee, start and run his company, Christianson Pipe Ltd. in 1968. All those whose lives were touched by Doris will remember her for her kindness, her generous nature, her honesty and integrity, her quick and easy smile, her love for animals, her favorite home away from home, Maui, her garden, a good cup of tea, and most of all, her love and devotion to her family. We will miss her greatly. Funeral Services will be held at Christ Church Elbow Park (3602 – 8th Street S.W.) on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at 3:00 P.M. with the Rev. Kersi Bird officiating.
