Obituary of Betty Robson
Mrs. Betty Robson, beloved wife of Rob Robson of Calgary, passed away at home on Saturday, May 1, 2004 at the age of 76 years.
Betty was born on December 30, 1927 in Central Butte, SK, was raised in Moose Jaw, SK and moved to Pitt Meadows, BC in 1943. There she met her husband-to-be, Rob, in 1945 on the school bus and they were married in 1947. Betty was always proud of Graduating from Psychiatric Nursing School where she received the Silver Medal in her class. In 1950, Betty and Rob moved to Quebec, then to Toronto in 1969 and settled in Calgary in 1985, where she has resided since. Betty was always very active in a number of volunteer associations wherever she lived. Three in particular that she enjoyed were The Palliative Care, the Seniors Club and the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank. Betty was Past President of Calgary Nu Grads. She enjoyed golfing, bridge, gardening, hiking, and cross-country skiing.
Besides her loving husband, Betty is survived by her children, Richard and Donna of Kincardine, ON and Gordon and Johann of St. Claire Shores, MI; and three grandchildren, Myvanwy, Nicole and Kevin. She is also survived by her brother Garry Canning and her sister Grace Clarke.
Funeral Services will be held at Deer Park United Church (77 Deerpoint Road S.E.) on Saturday, June 5, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Jennifer Ferguson officiating.
