Obituary of Charles Ralph Nelson

Charles Ralph (Charlie) Nelson, beloved husband of Mrs. Joyce Nelson of Strathmore, passed away peacefully at the Rosedale Hospice on Saturday, April 17, 2004 after a valiant battle with cancer at the age of 67 years. Charlie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Charlie was born in Calgary on April 24, 1936 and lived his early years in Cardston and then moved back to Calgary where he spent many years as a Meat Cutter. He moved to the Strathmore area in 1979 and spent his remaining years fulfilling his life-long dream of raising a few cows and living the farm life. He is survived by his loving wife Joyce and family, Jackie and Allen Greenough and their children, Jennifer, Cody and Adam; David and companion Carol; Daryl and Marjorie; and Ross and Gail and their children, Shanley and Kendra. Charlie is also survived by two brothers, George of Cardston and Keith of Santa Clara, UT; a sister Vada Archibald of Lethbridge; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Carl, mother Hazel, brother Ben, and sister Ethel. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Thursday, April 22, 2004 at 1:00 P.M.
