Linda Bishton

Obituary of Linda Anne Bishton

All good things must come to an end, and so has ended a nine-year fight with breast cancer. Linda passed away on Monday, April 12, 2004 and leaves to celebrate her life, her much loved husband of twenty-five years, Michael, and their two Golden Retrievers, Casey and Finnegan. Linda and Michael enjoyed many activities and loved to camp and travel to shooting matches in and around North America. They made many friends in this shooting fraternity and hold dear the many happy memories of trips and matches. Linda worked for PRISM Sulphur Corporation since 1992 and could not have been in a more supportive and positive environment to battle this disease. Many thanks for everything to President, Terry Draycott and his staff for their ongoing concern and willingness to make this as easy as possible for Linda and her family. Prior to her time at PRISM, Linda worked for BSC Canada from 1980 to 1987 and then Gulf Canada Resources from 1987 to 1992. Linda is survived by her parents, Brian and Dolores Marolly; her sister Christine and brother-in-law Peter Tsaprailis; her grandmother Adrienne Bushe; uncle Gilbert Bushe; best friend Heidi Hoehnke; and numerous cousins in Edmonton and Montreal. There are many, many friends to remember Linda by as well. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, April 19, 2004 at 2:30 P.M. with Dr. Ralph Oler officiating. Friends and family are invited to dress in their ‘brightest shirt’ and celebrate a life filled with many happy memories-good food, good times, good friends. To forward condolences go to www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the AgapÚ Hospice, 1302 – 8 Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1B8 Telephone: (403) 282-6588. We would like to thank many people for helping make this journey an easier one than it might have been. First, Dr. Geggie and his wisdom in the beginning, and then Dr. Doug Stewart and his BMT Team. There have been many nurses and TBCC staff who have all helped in their way and we’d like to thank Jan Koopmans, Michael Speca and the BEST group, Scott Dowden, Brenda, Kathy, Gail, Wendy, Anne, Pat, Barb, Dr. Jackson Wu and his team, and Carla Holt. Lastly thank you to Dr. Heather Hicks for stepping in and doing whatever she could to make this transition an easy one for everyone. We’d also especially like to thank Dr. Mike Libin and his staff for providing such dedication in care to Linda over the last few years. Everyone mentioned has become more than medical professionals and are considered part of the family. In living memory of Linda Bishton, a tree will be planted at Nose Creek Valley by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, CALGARY, TELEPHONE: (403) 276-2296.
