Obituary of Philip Coates

Philip (Phil) Robert Coates, beloved husband of Joyce Coates of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Monday, April 12, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 80 years. Phil was born on February 1, 1924 in Lethbridge, AB. He married Joyce on January 20, 1945. During the war he served with the RCAF and later returned to his career as a Locomotive Engineer with the Canadian Pacific Railways where he retired after 42 years of service. He is survived by his wife Joyce and their three daughters, Arlene, Patricia and Judy, as well as seven grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, April 19, 2004 at 2:30 P.M. with the Rev.
