Obituary of Tom Doo Nee Pon

With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father Tom Doo Nee Pon, of Calgary, while visiting family in California, on Monday, April 5, 2004 at the age of 74 years. Most recently, Tom had spent time in his home village in Taishan, China where he was dedicated to preserving the heritage and buildings of the local community. “Uncle Wing”/”Cheng Gong” will be remembered for his quiet spirit, generosity and wonderful homemade dinners. Tom is survived by his mother Kim of Taishan, China; his children, Patti (Jon Kosak), Dale Nielsen (Peter) and Barry (Susan); his grandchildren, Jodi Newitt (Jeff) and Brad Nielsen; his great-grandchildren, Austin and Alyssa Newitt; and many brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his dear wife Rose of Calgary, his father Wa Chung and his brother Ai Long both Taishan, China. Memorial Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, April 12, 2004 at 3:30 P.M. with Mr. Brian Deedrick officiating.
