Obituary of Gordon Paterson Ramsay

Gordon Paterson Ramsay, beloved husband of Molly Ramsay of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Monday, April 5, 2004 at the age of 60 years. Gordon was born on November 23, 1943 in Hamilton, Scotland. He immigrated to Kitchener, ON in 1967. In 1974 the family moved to Winnipeg, MB and have resided in Calgary since 1989. Soccer was the love of Gordon’s life. He coached the Alberta Provincial Team and was the assistant coach for the University of Calgary Dinos. He also enjoyed golfing, skiing and spending time with family. Besides his loving wife of thirty-five years, Gordon is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Paula Ramsay; a daughter Heather Ramsay; and four grandchildren, Jenny, Katie, Mollee, and Alanna, all of Calgary. He is also survived by a sister Elizabeth Swan as well as three nephews, Andrew, Ian and Gordon Swan, all of Scotland. Gordon was predeceased by his parents, William and Elizabeth Ramsay. Funeral Services will be held at St. Thomas United Church (100 Hawkwood Boulevard N.W.) on Thursday, April 8, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Roslyn Campbell officiating.
