Obituary of Maria Wilhelmine Seidler

Maria Seidler of Calgary passed away at the Royal Park Carewest on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at the age of 97 years. She was born in Duesseldorf, Germany. In her career as Coloratura Soprano, Maria performed solos in operas and concerts throughout Europe. Her love for the arts continued in Canada. Maria was a member of the Alberta Handicrafts Guild. She won many awards at the Calgary Stampede for her hooked rugs which she often designed and was very proud of. Maria is survived by her daughter Frances Hintze; her son and daughter-in-law, Dieter and Helgard Konwitschny; two granddaughters, Karin and Petra; two grandsons, Gordon and Brian and their families; and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Erich. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at 10:00 A.M.
