Obituary of Frances Edith Kwasny

Frances Edith Kwasny, beloved wife of Mr. Donald Kwasny of Calgary passed away on Friday, August 22, 2003 at the age of 80 years. Frances was born November 4, 1922 in Maple Creek, SK. She grew up on a small farm near Park Lake, AB. Following her graduation from Nobleford Central High School, she joined the Canadian Women’s Army Corps in 1943 and served in Calgary until 1947. Frances and Donald were married January 1, 1946 and raised their family in Calgary. Frances valued education and was always proud that all her children graduated from U. of C. She spent her retirement years travelling extensively and playing bridge. Besides her loving husband Donald, Frances is survived by her children: Patricia and Terence Goodwin of Calgary, Ralph and Lorraine Kwasny of Surrey, BC, Carmen and Timothy Madden of Calgary. Also left to mourn are eight grandchildren: Charmaine (Tracy) Grills and their children Melissa and Christopher; Nigel Goodwin; Steven, Michelle and Robert Kwasny; Spencer, Nolan and Robyn Madden. She is also survived by a brother Leslie Smith and sister Ada Sherman and their families. She was predeceased by a son Frank in 1960 and her brother Robert Smith in 1992. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church (1802 — 33 Avenue S.W.) on Monday, August 25, 2003 at 1:30 P.M. with the Rev. Canon Cyril E. Challice and the Rev.
